GWO (Global Wind Organisation) er en non-profit organisation etableret af Vestas, Siemens, Ørsted, Vattenfall, GE, Enercon mv.
Årsagen for etablering af GWO var at sikre et mere sikkert arbejdsmiljø i vindmøllebranchen.
I 2012 blev den første version af GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) standard, frigivet.
Denne Safety standard er sidenhen blevet udbygget med GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT), GWO EFA, GWO ART mv.
Der er mange GWO certificeringer. Et certifikat er udgangspunktet - et krav for adgang på sites, preassemble og lignende vindmølle områder. Dette certifikat er GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) sikkerhedskurserne.
GWO sikkerheds certifikatet indeholder fem moduler:
GWO WAH (Working at Height)
GWO FAW (Fire Awareness)
GWO FA (First Aid)
GWO MH (Manuel Handling)
GWO SS (Sea Survival)
De første fire moduler er et krav for at arbejde on-shore. Hvis du skal på off-shore, skal du tillige have GWO Sea Survival.
The GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) is your entrance to the wind turbine industry.
On the GWO BST training you learn how to work safe in this industry.
This certificate include five modules:
GWO WAH (Working at Height)
GWO FAW (Fire Awareness)
GWO FA (First Aid)
GWO MH (Manuel Handling)
GWO SS (Sea Survival)
The first four modules is needed in order to work on-shore. If you work off-shore, you will need all five modules.
The GWO Safety Training certificate, you can have in most countries globally.

When you have passed a GWO training, your record will be uploaded in this WINDA database.
Hereby, yourself, your company, the company who hire you etc. can search on your personally WINDA ID
And find the valid GWO certifications you hold.
